Is it Better to Exercise Alone or with a Friend?

When you go to the gym to work out, do you go by yourself or do you organise a workout session with a buddy? Some people are solo exercisers and they couldn’t imagine having someone else working out with them – the workout is their chance to be alone with their thoughts and to find quiet and peace. Other people love to exercise with their friends and find it a positive activity to enjoy together – they motivate each other to push harder and being together makes the workout more fun.

So which is the best strategy for your workout? There are advantages to working out alone and with a buddy, so the answer really depends on what is most important to you. Let’s take a look at some of the perks that each option has to offer.

  • If you hire a personal trainer it might cost more to have them all to yourself, but they can give you personalised attention.
